Maisoun El-Zorba graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Alexandria University, studying in the Sculpture Department with a focus on Open Air Sculpture. She has participated in several exhibitions and forums in Egypt and abroad. Her artwork is influenced by the movement and steadiness of the bird, both in form and function. Her technique is to manipulate the various blocks of her chosen medium to combine relaxation and tension, attraction and repulsion, and variation and harmony of movement in multiple direction, creating energy around the sculptural mass. The kinetic concept of El-Zorba’s endeavors assert continuation and permanence through the repetition of inhalation, which encourages us to always maintain a mutual relationship between movement and balance.
