Born in 1980, Michela Tobiolo is an Italian visual artist. Her multidisciplinary practice includes painting, sewing arts, video-art, installations, sound experiments, shared ritual acts, and fusion of diversified codes and languages. Her artwork often uses folk culture as the window to a childlike world and fable as archetype to explore the human condition and the natural world. Michela has been involved in several international exhibitions organized by public and private institutions, including the VAA Video Art Awards, Tsoga Centre in (Cape Town, South Africa), Tocar a la Puerta (Brussels), London Biennale and more. She was selected for artist residencies at BOCS in Coseenza, Italy, and SENSE to MABOS at the Museo del Bosco della Sila in Catanzaro, Italy. These experiences have allowed her to explore the power of friendship, solidarity, and community in participatory practice.
