Shereen Badr is an Egyptian contemporary artist. She studied French at Tanta University, Egypt, and Legal and UN Translation at the American University in Cairo, Egypt. She is a self-taught artist who became familiar with water-based coloring techniques, transitioning to oil based and acrylic painting later in her career. Shereen held her first art exhibition, “Brush and Lens” with the American photographer Kevin Roy in April 2016 at Al-Sawy Cultural Wheel in Egypt and has continued to organize and participate in many group exhibitions in Egypt and abroad.
Shereen became fascinated with art at the age of six, encouraged to pursue her passion by both of her parents, and is devoted to studying the history of art. She is influenced by her experience growing up in Kuwait, a culturally and internationally diverse society, which opened her mind and exposed her to views of world at large.
Shereen is the dedicated founder of the Euro-Arab Artoday Project that aims to support the cultural interaction between Arab and European people through collaborative events, workshops, exhibitions and training courses.
